Review: Baby Essentials from The Moms Co.

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you’d know that a few weeks before my second was born, I was sent a newborn essentials hamper by The Moms Co.

To tell you a little about them – The Moms Co was a company founded by parents who were in search of  natural, toxin-free products in India. They use all natural ingredients in their products and are Australian Certified Toxin-Free and also hold a whole other bunch of certifications to make sure the products are completely safe to use. You can read all about it on their site here.

I got their ‘Everything for Baby‘ box for review and it had the following items in it –

  • Baby Wash
  • Baby Shampoo
  • Baby Lotion
  • Baby Massage Oil
  • Baby Hair Oil
  • Baby Powder
  • Diaper Rash Cream

All these came packed in an adorable little suitcase-like gift box which we have been reusing as a nappy storage + mommy’s late night essentials box.

After having exclusively used (and still using) these on her since day one (and also on myself. What, you don’t steal your child’s toiletries from time to time?), I thought it’s high time you guys knew just how amazing these products are. I’ve also been using these on the toddler as well the past week so that I can refill everything before we head back to the desert.

The body lotion and the oils (massage oil & hair oil) are light and non-greasy making them great for usage even on hot and humid summer days. I love the mild natural fragrance these have. These also got a big yay from the toddler who HATES anything greasy on him.

Since the little miss doesn’t have much hair to speak of, we have been using the hair oil just about a couple of times a week on her. I, on the other hand have been using it on my hair more often and absolutely love how soft it makes my hair after wash. The massage oil is equally good and moisturizing too – this I know because I skip using any body wash or lotion on alternate days and just use warm water to give her a bath and let the oils get absorbed.

The body lotion is very moisturizing and lasts all day and also works as a great hand cream for adults (or at least it does, for me).

The shampoo doesn’t dry out the scalp like some of the mainstream baby brands that I have tried and works great on the lion-like rough mane of the toddler as well as the baby’s soft hair. The same is the case with the body wash.

Although I haven’t used the baby powder on the baby, the toddler has loved looking like Casper one too many times and we haven’t had to deal with anything unfortunate because of these episodes (it’s talc-free!). It also works really well as dry shampoo when you don’t have any dry shampoo in hand. Also worked as a fairly good substitute to matte-fy skin when you run out of compact. Why should babies have all the fun, eh?!

Last but not the least, I definitely need to talk about the diaper rash cream. This has been a life-saver on days when we have had to use disposables. The rash cream has been great in preventing rashes and reducing any redness caused by the use of disposables. I think it’s cloth diaper safe too since all the ingredients are natural (and as long as you follow a proper wash routine) and will be my first pick if we ever face any issues once we start cloth diapering her full time.

Overall, I’m extremely happy with the products and will definitely be getting more before we head back and highly recommend them if you’re having a new baby or have a toddler or know anyone who’d love these. I also think it’s really great that such good quality, natural, toxin-free products are now available in India easily. I should also mention that they have a whole lot of good stuff for mothers and expectant mothers too.

You can buy everything directly from their site. Don’t forget to check their value bundles for mommies and babies. They make for great gifts too!

PS: I was provided with free products in return for my honest review. All views are my own and not influenced by the company.
