Chocolate Coffee Bliss Balls

Okay, so I made this amazing chocolate-coffee thingy the other day and thought I should share the recipe with you guys because zomg they are so good!

This recipe is not baby friendly, but you can make it baby friendly if you want by skipping the coffee. Anyway, I made these for us to gobble down when we needed a quick fix dessert that wasn’t loaded with sugar. These bliss balls, as they are called really are blissful. Especially if you, like me, love dark chocolate, these are just perfect because they aren’t the overly sweet kind.

Here’s what you need:

  1. 1 cup dates, pitted
  2. 1/2 cup almonds
  3. 1/2 cup pistachios
  4. 1tbs flax seed powder (optional)
  5. 1.5tbs cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  6. 1 heaped tsp instant coffee powder
  7. A fat pinch of salt

All you need to do is blend them all together coarsely and roll them into balls. That’s it. Easy or what?

I rolled some of them in more unsweetened cocoa powder for a more chocolatey kick.

And what’s the best part? You can get as creative as you want to and add more ingredients depending on what you have or want. I’m listing below some options from the top of my head:

Toasted coconut flakes, toasted sesame seeds, substitute or add in more nuts based on what you want or have, roasted peanuts, add dried figs or raisins along with the dates, add in a nut butter of your choice, you can also add in some semi-sweet chocolate chips before you roll them into balls, oh the possibilities are endless.

These work great as a snack too. Almost like a chocolate-y protein bar. I even added a couple of them to my breakfast oats. Mmhmm..

Try and let me know how you like it?

  1. Amazing and easy recipe. I tried this and it came out very well even without cocoa powder and coffee powder and whole family enjoyed it. Thanks for the recipe and please continue blogging..
